So, you want to write an article about a subject you are interested in … but you don’t have a lot of information or enough information to write it…what do you do now?!

Let’s first start by looking at a few article directories and doing a search for your subject.

I would suggest the following:

http://www.goarticles.com
http://searchwarp.com
http://www.articledashboard.com
http://www.articlealley.com
http://www.articlecity.com

Now - before I hear you say “But Dave, why should I search an article directory for articles on a subject that I am about to write? Isn’t that wrong?”

Let’s get something straight:  I did not say GO THERE AND COPY WORD FOR WORD THOSE ARTICLES AND USE THEM AS YOUR OWN!!

DO NOT EVER do that!!!

What I suggest is called “RESEARCH” ;-)

We are researching the field you are interested in…gathering ideas, concepts, notes … so that when you ready to write YOUR OWN, ORIGINAL article, you will have a better idea of what to write about!

Again … NEVER, EVER, EVER copy someone else’s article word for word and try and pass it along as your own!!

What we are doing by going to these directories (and other places) is becoming more familiar with our subject. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Now that we have that straight … let’s move on.

Once you have found 10-20 articles on your subject, copy and paste the article into a blank document….now don’t freak out on me - there is NOTHING wrong with doing that!  Remember, this is just our way of finding information in our subject.  This should take no more than about 30 minutes to an hour.

What you NOW need to do is open up a second blank document and start writing your own article. Use your 10-20 articles as your inspiration to create your own UNIQUE article!  Again, DO NOT COPY!!  Use your own words and ideas.

While you are writing your new article, if you become stuck and can’t think of more to write about…do some more research! Find another 5-10 articles and go from there.

Ideally, your new article should be from 500 to 800 words. That is a good number because most, if not all article directories require about 350 to 500 MINIMUM.  Yours being 500 to 800 should allow you to submit it to any article directory.

You can get a list of “Top 50 Article Directories By Traffic, Pagerank” by visiting:
http://www.vretoolbar.com/articles/directories.php

Finish your article and submit it!!   Then wash, rinse and repeat.

See…simple ;-)

If you have any questions…post away!

Dave
